Introduction of Library The library of HLAU was set up in August, 1958. Presently it is located in the center of the new campus of HLAU in Daqing city, Heilongjiang Province. The library is surrounded by a lake with beautiful scenery covering 26,173 square meters. It houses 3,000 seats for readers and possesses 1.4 million books as well as more than 1,000 kinds of paper journals and periodicals from home and abroad. We have also provided? Access to 10 large data banks and 2 digital libraries so that our readers can benefit from our international connections when they are searching for full texts or indexes in Chinese and foreign languages. We are adopting the opening-management mode that is capable of providing a convenient service for readers for 98 hours per week. The library consists of one office and 4 sections: comprehensive office; book-borrowing section; book recourses construction section; system section and book-resources developing section. The readers in the library can conduct file and document in-circulation reading, obtain publicity and guidance, receive quality information education, resource and reference consultation; they can also search document information under a specific topic and benefit from our services of information edition and translation, analysis and research, the latest report on document information.
